Danzeno is top weight having run consistently well throughout this season. He was held by Dakota Gold at listed level last weekend over the minimum trip on soft ground. That was a good effort as Dakota Gold has been a revelation this season making that form read very well indeed. Previous to his Ascot run he raced over course and distance at York where Dakota beat him as well. Danzeno has proven soft ground form and four wins to his name over 6 furlongs. The easy six at York will suit for sure. Theodore Ladd claims 5lbs helping to make Danzeno well handicapped for this Class 2 sprint.

Air Raid loves soft ground and gets his favoured underfoot conditions tomorrow. On soft ground he has won four of his five wins. Hamilton has proved a happy hunting ground for Air Raid with three victories chalked up this season alone. He travelled really well up front when winning at Hamilton in July over six furlongs on soft ground. The runner up that day was Lake Volta who previously had finished fifth in the Bunbury Cup! Air Raid failed to fire at Goodwood in the Stewards Cup. We can forgive him that run as it was his first time racing on good to firm ground. Jack Garritty knows the horse well and he could produce a surprise here arriving fresh and well off the back of a break.

Ranch Hand was on the radar but the value has gone especially with Trueshan whom he beat last time out winning earlier today! It’s a wide open race and a horse that is well overpriced is Mr Everest. He is a proven performer in staying flat handicaps and is trained by Tony Martin. Mr Everest finished third in the Irish Cesarewitch last season before going on to land the November handicap at Naas over 1m6f. John Egan who rode him to win at Naas has been booked again with all looking set for a big run thanks to the ground riding only good to soft at worse. A draw in stall 8 remains a positive despite high number winning the past four renewals. Mr Everest arrives here in good form having won a maiden hurdle at the Galway festival. At the Listowel Festival he was beaten over 4l by David’s Charm who won a Grade 3 hurdle race easily at Tipperary last Sunday.

Welsh trainer Evan William likes to train Chepstow winners and I like the chances of Bold Plan. Last season he beat Southfield Stone at Taunton before the runner up went on to land the Grade 2 Dovecote Novices hurdle at Kempton. Poker Play outstayed Bold Plan on heavy ground over two and a half miles at Uttoxeter before he was put away for the summer. A mark of 132 looks fair with this race his second start at handicap level. Evan Williams hit the crossbar today with three seconds but at least we know his horses are fit and ready to run well.
