Advised SATURDAY MORNING 28th DECEMBER

Racecourse: Limerick
Time: 14:15
Date: 28/12/2019
Horse: Frankly All Talk
Current Odds: 5/1 Bet365, Paddy Power & Betfair SB, use BOG bookies
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Frankly All Talk makes the long trip from Armagh to Limerick to exploit his lenient looking hurdling mark. He won over fences at Punchestown 20 days ago staying on dourly with the handicapper upping him to a chase mark of 123. Reverting to hurdles today our selecton is allowed race from a mark of 103 with regular 7lb claimer PJ O’Hanlon riding. Frankly All Talk ran well over hurdles on his first start of the season at Tipperary beaten into second by just over a length on yielding ground. He will relish the heavy ground at Limerick today as all he does is stay galloping. Including the jockeys claim Frankly All Talk can get the job done with only 10-5 on his back along with plenty of money lumped on this morning.

Racecourse: Limerick
Time: 2:50
Date: 28/12/2019
Horse: Beyond The Law
Current Odds: 25/1 Paddy Power, Betfair SB, Boylesports, Skybet, Unibet & Betway all paying 5 places, use BOG bookies
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

A very competitive handicap chase and a big field of runners which is well deserved with such a good pot (29.5k to winner) up for grabs. Nine of the past ten winners carried 11 stone or less with only last year winner Westerner Point managing to win carrying 11-5. I think it is worth taking on the top of the market horses with an outsider who goes well over fences on a good day. Mouse Morris has trained Gold Cup and Grand National winners and knows how to ready a horse for a big target. Beyond The Law finished fourth behind Real Steel, Hardline & Poker Party in a Grade A handicap chase at the Punchestown festival. In fact this time last season he was racing in a Grade 1 over course and distance won by Hardline. He will enjoy this trip and ground and if produced at this best must have a good shot carrying just 10-3 with Mikey Hammell claiming off a further 3lbs.

Racecourse: Leopardstown
Time: 12:50
Date: 28/12/2019
Horse: Rock De Baune
Current Odds: 7/1 Betvictor & Bet365 both 5 places, use BOG bookies.
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

A Great View was interesting but off a lower weight I am siding with Rocke De Baune also owned by JP McManus. Our selection ran very well over 2m4f on soft ground at Naas in a Grade B handicap hurdle when beaten by Kilfenora. Rock De Baune lacked the gears of the winner at Naas but should enjoy going out further in trip for his first run over three miles. He is only a five year old so his best days are ahead and it looks significant that Mark Walsh is booked to ride carrying 10-4. Trainer John Kiely is a work of nature riding out in his eighties with his brother and as capable a trainer as any when targeting a big race. Carlingford Lough enjoyed some big days at Leopardstown so it would be a buzz to see John Kiely training another Leopardstown winner.

Racecourse: Leopardstown
Time: 12:50
Date: 28/12/2019
Horse: Tout Est Permis
Current Odds: 9/2 Paddy Power 6 places else 9/2 Betfair SB 5 places, use BOG bookies.
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Tout Est Permis was heavily backed to win a Grade B handicap hurdle at Navan earlier this month. He ran a good race but found one too good on the day. That winner The Jam Man is a non runner today which lessens the task ahead of Tout Est Permis. We backed this horse when winning the Troytown Chase last season so we know he is a graded performer over fences. In fact his chase rating is 155 a huge 28lbs higher than his hurdling mark. Due to carry 10-6 this afternoon and with a recent hurdles run under his belt this looks a super opportunity for Tout Est Permis to exploit his lenient looking hurdle rating for trainer Noel Meade.

Racecourse: Leopardstown
Time: 2:35
Date: 28/12/2019
Horse: Dalton Highway
Current Odds: 7/1 Paddy Power, Betfred & Betfair SB all 6 places, use BOG bookies.
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Dalton Highway is a horse we know from the flat turf season just gone in Ireland. He won a Curragh handicap in May over two miles off a rating of 74 and while not winning thereafter ended the season rated 86. He was runner up at Killarney beaten only a length by David’s Charm with Golden Spear behind in third.  In the Irish Cesarewitch he finished runner up to the well handicapped Royal Illusion which is a premier handicap in Ireland. On his final start of the season in another premier handicap Dalton Highway was fourth behind Jukebox Jive over 1m6f on heavy ground at Naas. A proper stayer on the flat who handles all grounds he looks well handicapped on a mark of 111 on his second run in handicaps. The two miles at the Galway festival was too short so today’s intermediate trip of 2m4.5f on soft ground looks good as does Dermot Weld booking Jack Kennedy to ride for Dr Lambe.
