It's the best day of jump racing so far this season as the big guns come out to play! A Plus Tard, Constitution Hill, Edwardstone, L'Homme Presse and many more.

A cracking day of action and we get stuck into the stayers handicap hurdle at Haydock formerly run as the "fixed brush" hurdle.

The ground is going to be testing following lots of rain earlier this week. That is a positive for Ailie Rose who stays all day and is proven over this trip following a win at Ayr at the backend of last season. That win came on good ground following a staying on third at Limerick on heavy ground in a Grade 3 mares novice hurdle. I think she ran a nice first race back at Carlisle over 2m4f when beaten 5l by Good Risk At All. She meets that winner on 13lbs tone better terms tomorrow thanks to the 7lb claim of jockey Ben Bromley. At a big price she should be staying on well at the finish and can nick a place or better.

David Pipe likes to target this valuable handicap hurdle and is well capable of preparing one for its first run of the season. David’s horses are running well and Remastered in the same owners’ colours won nicely at Aintree last month. Brinkley has promised more than he has delivered to date and reverted to hurdles following two runs over fences last season. He loves testing ground and has won three from seven runs over hurdles. I feel Brinkely is best backed first time out when fresh and the handicapper has given him a nice chance dropping him down to 138 which is 2lbs lower than his highest winning mark. He beat Tommy Rapper over 2m7f on heavy at Exeter in a Pertemps qualifier in February 2021, so we know he stays well.

Charles Byrnes horses have been winning all around them but I am against Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar due to the rain softened ground. Wakool and Might I are good horses but carry big weights today.
