NAZEEF PRIMED FOR REPEAT NEWMARKET WIN!

A quick change of plan required this morning with Ascot abandoned!

The Challenge Cup was our target but now we switch to the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

Nazeef won the Falmouth Stakes over course and distance in July from Billesdon Brook with Terebellum back in third. There was just a neck separating each horse but looking at the race there is little doubt that Nazeef was a worthy winner. That race was at Group 1 level and on soft ground so like what they will race on again this afternoon.

A Group 2 winner at the Royal Meeting previously it is clear in hindsight that those two hard races left her flat for Goodwood and Deauville in mid summer. John Gosden has freshened her up and she can land another Group 1 here at the expense of the Irish 3yo’s representing trainers Aidan O’Brien and Johnny Murtagh. This is a competitive renewal where I want to have a Group 1 winner on our side.
