Notachance is too big following his impressive win in this race last season. He travelled and jumped really well that day to win snugly from Achille. Today, he meets Achille on 4lbs better terms with Achille having had two hard races at Aintree and Chepstow this season. Alan King is quite bullish regarding his runner who has had excuses for poor runs since winning this race last season. Notacance needs testing ground over a trip and gets his conditions today having shown some renewed form at Haydock last month. Alan has applied first time pieces to help sharpen the horse up for today’s race where the place to be is on or near the pace up front.

The David Pipe novice Gericault Roque is a good horse but might just lack the experience to win a Classic Chase at this stage of his career and the same applies for the Evan Williams trained No Rematch.
