Selection Reasoning:

Klassical Dream has the option of running over further in the Ballymore Novice hurdle on Wednesday but I think there is every chance he will run in this race. Yes, he was a bit fortunate to win from stablemate Aramon at the Dublin Racing Festival but he did win. That was a cracking effort on just his second start over hurdles outside of France. It was significant that Ruby Walsh chose to ride Klassical Dream over Aramon who already had won at Grade 1 level and was rated 146 at that time.

Ruby allowed Klassical Dream to force the pace up front and he kicked for home rounding the final bend with the rest pushed along in behind. I loved the way he battled all the way to the line with Aramon leaning on top of him. Aramon is a fast horse and relishes good ground while Klassical Dream will enjoy more cut in the ground which looks likely on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival. Klassical Dream is entitled to improve again on his third run for Willie Mullins. A true run Supreme Hurdle is a big test of stamina as they tend to go hard and that could play right into the hands of Klassical Dream. It’s worth backing Klassical Dream before final declarations are know this Sunday afternoon.
