Advised thursday Night 10th october

Racecourse: Newmarket
Time: 13:50
Date: 11/10/2019
Horse: Platinum Star
Current Odds: 5/2 Bet365, William Hill & 888sport
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 1.0 Point Win
Selection Reasoning

Platinum Star is a worthy favourite and the most likely winniner in my book. This colt by Lope De Vega won a listed race over six furlongs easily at Ripon in August. He showed plenty of speed that day and arrives here fresh from a nice break of 46 days. He was runner up in the Windsor Castle stakes over this trip on soft ground at the Royal meeting so the good to soft ground will be no issue. His best run was in the July stakes here when narrowly beaten by Royal Lytham at Group 2 level. Oisin Murphy has been booked to ride and of the Godolphin owned pair of runners it is Platinum Star who looks best equiped with the speed to win over this minimum trip.

Racecourse: Newmarket
Time: 15:35
Date: 11/10/2019
Horse: Cayenne Pepper
Current Odds: 3/1 Bet365 else 11/4 generally
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 1.0 Point Win
Selection Reasoning

Jessie Harrington has a very smart bunch of 2yo fillies this season having already landed Group 1’s with Albigna & Millisle. I think she can trainer another Group 1 winner with the unbeaten Cayenne Pepper. She won very well last time out at Group 3 level when getting the better of the Aidan O’Brien trained So Wonderful. Ridden off the front that day by Shane Foley having to do all the donkey work she nevertheless picked up impressively when challenged by So Wonderful. The runner up franked the form with a solid third place finish in the Moyglare Stud stakes won by Love on Irish champions Weekend. Cayeene Pepper is proven over a mile and should enjoy the bit of cut underfoot and stiff finish of the Rowley Mile.

Racecourse: Newmarket
Time: 16:10
Date: 11/10/2019
Horse: Skymax
Current Odds: 16/1 generally, look for bookies paying 5 places and best odds guaranteed
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Skymax is a very big price considering how well he ran in the Melrose handicap at York won by Hamish. That race was run on good to firm ground and I can see this son of Maxios enjoyed the softer going at Newmarket. At the backend of last season he won a valuable nursery handicap here on good ground finishing strongly over 10 furlongs. A mile and a half is fine for this front runner who could get things his own way up front. Richard Kingscote is a solid jockey booking with 4 winners from 11 rides for trainer Ralph Beckett this season.

Racecourse: York
Time: 14:40
Date: 11/10/2019
Horse: Alemaratalyoum
Current Odds: 7/1 Boylesports 5 places else 8/1 Bet365 4 places
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 1.0 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Alemaratalyoum won very easily at Goodwood two weeks ago on heavy ground over this mile trip. The ground is the key to this horse and with heavy showers forecast tomorrow the ground could easily turn soft which is a big positive. A 7lb hike in the ratings is negated somewhat by the booking of 5lb claiming jockey Marco Ghiani. Alemaratalyoum has a high cruising speed and good turn of foot so can be ridden to come over the top and run them down late. It’s a competitive race of 16 runners but if our selection runs to form I cannot see him not placing at the very least. The form of his second place finish to Oh This Is Us at Chester in a valuable handicap this summer reads well with no horse of that quality in this field. Firmament was tempting but on likely soft ground over a mile it is the stamina laden Alemaratalyoum who we back.
