Advised Thursday Morning 30th July

Racecourse: Goodwood
Time: 15:15
Date: 30/07/2020
Horse: Magic Wand
Current Odds: 4/1 generally, use BOG bookies
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 1 Point Win
Selection Reasoning

Magic Wand is no second string for the same owners as French Oaks winner Fancy Blue ridden by Ryan Moore. Frankie Dettori is a more than able deputy and the drying ground and temperatures will suit Magic Wand perfectly. Fancy Blue had a very hard race in France while Magic Wand stayed on well at Sandown in the Eclipse stakes finishing ahead of the re-opposing Deirdre. Magic Wand can go forward if necessary from stall 2. It’s a good race and I believe the value lies with Magic Wand should Fancy Blue not run her to best after her adventure in France.

Racecourse: Galway
Time: 18:15
Date: 30/07/2020
Horse: Stylish Moment
Current Odds: 14/1 generally use bookie paying 5 places & BOG
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Stylish Moment looks well in relative to his chasing mark which is 15lbs higher. As well as only being rated 107 over hurdles, trainer Eoin Doyle has booked good claimer Hugh Morgan claiming 7lbs. Hugh as ridden plenty of horses for trainer Henry De Bromhead last winter so he is excellent value for his claim. The easier going that early this week is a positive as he finished a close second at Thurles over fences last November as well as filling the same position over hurdles on soft ground at Thurles November last. There is more rain forecast this morning so this will be a slog and Stylish Moment will relish this test with proven stamina over 2m2f to 2m4f around undulating racecourse Thurles.

Racecourse: Galway
Time: 18:45
Date: 30/07/2020
Horse: Aramax
Current Odds: 10/1 William Hill & Skybet both paying 6 places else 9/1 Paddy Power 6 places
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Aramax won the Fred Winter handicap at the Cheltenham Festival in taking fashion. He ran very green up the finishing hill with his ears pricked but was well on top come the line. He has won three of his six hurdling starts including two runs in France. Mark Walsh is booked to ride and this horse has plenty of good days ahead. He will need luck and have to be brave around this tight circuit but is a big horse that will not be easily brushed aside. JP McManus loves a Galway winner this young horse full of potential looks overpriced in my book. Hunters Call was the last one left out even at 10 years of age as he is very lightly raced, won recently and will love the rain softened ground. If he drifts out to 14/1 or higher he is worth a saver on the day.
