Advised THURSDAY AFTERNOON 20th FEBRUARY
Kildorrey is a “daft horse” according to his trainer Ted Walsh but has plenty of ability. He travels and jumps well with plenty of speed. Those attributes should serve him well around Thurles which is an undulating course with a downhill run over the final two fences. This race represents a drop in class having competed in two valuable and very competitive handicaps recently. He was booked for second place behind a rejuvenated Avenir D’une Vie at Fairyhouse only to take a crashing fall at the final fence. At Leopardstown last time out he was ridden by Denis O’Regan and that run will have done his confidence the world of good. The handicapper has not relented leaving him on a mark of 132 which is fine. The soft ground and undulating course are fine and I expect this horse will go close today if running to his best.
