Advised FRIDAY Morning 10th July

Racecourse: Newmarket
Time: 13:50
Date: 10/07/2020
Horse: Breanski
Current Odds: 11/2 William Hill & Boylesports, both paying 4 places
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

The ground is soft and I am taking am backing Breanski to land this prize. He went very close to winning at Redcar recently so arrives in good form. A previous winner on heavy ground we know he will handle the soft underfoot conditions. His rating of 85 is good ok but he did manage to win from this mark before. Jack Garritty rides and he is well drawn in stall 15.

Racecourse: Newmarket
Time: 15:00
Date: 10/07/2020
Horse: Themaxwecan
Current Odds: 15/2 Boylesports, William Hill & Unibet, all paying 5 places
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Mark Johnston runs four in this heritage handicap but the one I like is Star of the East. He goes well on the July course with a record of 1,1,2 and that 2nd was when he was demoted having crossed the line first over a mile and a half on soft ground. This talented gelding missed all of the 2019 season but showed up well last time out on his second run back over course and distance on quick ground. PJ McDonald comes in for the ride and rode him to win over this trip in July 2018. Mark Johnston trained runners are tough warriors who are kept busy and we can reasonably expect Star of the East to step forward again on his third run of the season.

Star of the East is a non runner this morning due to a Vet Cert (inflammation). Instead we back his stablemate Themaxwecan who ran a big race at Royal Ascot coming down the middle of the track to place in the Copper horse handicap. Ryan Moore has been booked to ride so that is an obvious positive.

Racecourse: Market Rasen
Time: 2:40
Date: 10/07/2020
Horse: Fidux
Current Odds: 14/1 Skybet, William Hill, Betvictor & Boylesports, all paying 5 places
Advised Stake & Bet Type: 0.5 Point Each Way
Selection Reasoning

Fidux is one of few that have had a recent run to set them right for this summer highlight over jumps. Alan King enjoyed a great Royal Ascot and he sent Fidux to Wolverhampton a month ago for a pipe opener. Fidux is having just his fifth chase start having won twice over fences. He should get away with it on summer good to soft ground and the trip looks his best. Fidux carries 11 stone and is rated 138 which is a few pounds lower than when he won twice in a row last summer. This race looks to have been the long term plan and we can expect a bold show from Fidux.
