Zeus to Strike at Dundalk

The ITV racing fare is not great at Newbury today with all road leading to the Ebor festival at York next week.

We change tact and target a premier handicap at Dundalk where the newly laid all weather surface is riding on the slow side. Most bookies will show the race live on their apps once you place a bet of £1 or more. There are 14 runners with the majority of bookies paying 4 places so it is a good race to target for each way punters like ourselves 😉

Baby Zeus has a good winning chance dropping back in trip having not stayed the trip in the Ulster Derby three weeks ago at Down Royal. He travelled really well that day if a bit too well and looked the winner turning for home. However, he couldn’t sustain his run and fell away to finish third behind Ned Kelly. This three year old has run well twice this season as on his first run he ran well behind Delphi at Navan over ten and a half furlongs. He looks to possess plenty of speed so this flat track and 10 furlong trip looks a good fit with Colin Keane booked to ride for his boss Ger Lyons.

Freescape is a big price for a triple course winner who goes best on an all weather surface. He proved he can stay this ten furlong trip with return to form effort at Leopardstown last month. This 10 furlongs will be easier and Donagh O’Connor claims a useful 3lbs leaving Freescape carrying 9-6. He ran a cracker at Meydan in a Group 1 last March under Pat Dobbs with Surrounding finishing behind. This premier handicap has a decent winners prize of €26,550 and Freescape looks to have been targeted at this prize by trainer David Marnane.
