William Haggas runs two with Maelstrom looking his number one shot. This Night of Thunder colt has won three in a row and looks most progressive. He overcame a six-pound hike in the ratings to win easily at Haydock over six on good ground, three weeks ago. A four-pound rise to a mark of 84 is more than fair to allow Maelstrom run here off a low weight of 8-6.
Fast Track Harry won on his first run of the season at Doncaster. He won well carrying a penalty without his jockey having to get serious. Finley Marsh retains the ride for trainer Clive Cox who trained the 2022 and 2024 winners of this race. Fast Track Harry won his maiden on soft ground before failing to fire when tested at listed level in the Doncaster stakes. A wind operation looks to have worked such was the manner of his return this season. We can expect another step forward from the Harry Angel colt on just his fourth career run.
