Tangerine Trees to Shine in Scottish Sprint Cup

Tangerine Trees to Shine in Scottish Sprint Cup

Tangerine Trees is drawn high which is an advantage in the Scottish Sprint Cup over the minimum trip. We are doing well in sprint handicaps having picked a winner over the past two weekends so let’s try and hit a hat trick today.

Caspian Prince who won the Epsom Dash last weekend has got the plum draw of stall 18 but was all out to beat two unlucky finishers in Steps and Seeking Magic and has a 6lb penalty to carry. He can give Tangerine Trees a good lead and hopefully Royston French will be ready to pounce near the line on our old timer.

Less we forget Tangerine Trees beat last year’s winner of this race Kingsgate Choice over course and distance on similar ground in March 2013. Body and Soul is entitled to be favourite having ran second behind Top Boy two weeks ago but can be passed over at miserable price of 4/1 in a 17 runner handicap!

Elsewhere on a very busy day of racing, another sprinter that looks overpriced is Extortionist in the Scurry Stakes at Sandown. Olly Stevens who trains Extortionist has had this race in mind for a while and says Extortionist is in “great nick” with no ground concerns.

He has a good low draw unlike favourite G Force and is stepping down to Listed Class have competed at Group 3 level last time out. That race was won by Sole Power and was a Group 2 or better in reality so I fully expect Extortionist to make his presence felt at listed class having finished just over 5 lengths behind Royal Ascot bound Sole Power.

Selection: 1 Point *EW Tangerine Trees Musselburgh 15:35 at 18/1 generally 4 places

Selection: 1 Point *EW Extortionist Sandown 14:55 at 16/1 generally 4 places with PaddyPower

Best of luck,

P.S > Use small stakes as this should be fun and their will be more losers than winners naturally at these big prices but our aim is to make a profit over the year.
