Take This Appoach at Cheltenham.

Cheltenham is back and what a fantastic way to switch our attention from the flat to jumping action.

We target the staying handicap chase run over 3m1f on good (ish) ground.

West Approach goes well at Cheltenham and will love the nice ground. He has dropped 3lbs in the handicap ratings since beaten 2l by Cogry here over 3m2f on soft ground. Today, he is 6lbs better off against Cogry so is weighted to finish ahead of the Nigel Twiston-Davies runner. Trained by Colin Tizzard our selection is a regular performer at Cheltenham and goes well around this unique course.

Frodon is the class horse of the race but is lumbered with 11-12. He could set this race up nicely for West Approach who is a sit and pounce late ride. He pulls himself up in front, but Harry Cobden is a good jockey and can deliver him near the line. West Approach finished second behind festival winner The Conditional in this same race last season and third the year before, so he runs well when fresh.
