SHERGAR CUP MILE RICH OPTION

The Shergar Cup was created to showcase jockeys from around the world. Unfortunately, that will not occur this year due to Covid restrictions.

Nevertheless, it is an opportunity for those not overly familiar with horse racing to see the best jockeys up close and personal. Personally, I do not like this event and it's worse from a betting perspective. He team colours carried by each horse is very confusing making it difficult to identify the horse you have backed. We back just the one today at Ascot in a ten runner mile race on the round course. The rain has come this morning and if the ground turns soft that will be fine for our selection.

The ground has eased at Ascot which is good news for both Revich and Raising Sand. Of that pair I am siding with the younger Revich who will love the mile trip around a bend. He finished fourth in the spring mile at Newbury behind Nugget off a 3lb higher mark. This horse is better running around a bend and has David Egan riding this afternoon. He is well drawn in stall 5 and if running as well as last weekend has a solid chance of getting back to winning ways here.
