REDEMPTION AWAITS FOR MEADE STAR

Road To Respect looks a very solid each way bet with race fitness on his side in the Grade 1 Savills Chase this afternoon.

Kemboy is having his first run of the season and might just be vulnerable to those that have a run under their belt. He is the highest rated chaser in Ireland and the UK last season.

Presenting Percy impressed in the John Durkan staying on well over a trip short of his best. No doubt he will enjoy stepping up a half mile in trip. It's a cracking lineup really with Bellshill, Monalee, Delta Work & Anabale Fly all well capable at their best.

Road To Respect won this race in 2017 and ran very well last year considering he got stopped twice and almost came down on the far side bend about 5 furlongs from home. He did well to recover and finish off his race so strongly. Last year the ground was unseasonably good whilst this time round it will be soft and that is the ground Road To Respect enjoys best. He beat King George winner Clan Des Obeaux by 4l at Down Royal and while we know the runner up lacked fitness it was still impressive back to back wins at Grade 1 level for Road To Respect.

On official ratings Road To Respect is joint second top rated along with Persenting Percy on 169 with Kemboy clear on 177. However, Willie Mullins works back from the big spring festival races so while Kemboy will be ready for a big run he will be more 90% rather than 100% fit which opens the door for Road To Respect to regain this race for trainer Noel Meade and jockey Sean Flanagan.
