NATIONAL HUNT SEASON 2019/2020 REVIEW – 35% ROI

Time does fly and hard to believe we are already into June!

Racing resuming today at Newcastle following a forced break of over two months! The revised racing timetable has the Newmarket Guineas Meeting next weekend. Imagine, it is just over two weeks until the start of the 5-day Royal Ascot Meeting!

This post is a review of how the latest National Hunt Season (October 2019 to March 2020) went for Full Members of the Bet Alchemist Value Betting Service.

The season started quietly in October but picked up quickly as we enjoyed a fantastic and very profitable November winning +40 Points. Winners backed were Oldgrangewood at 9/1, Capeland at 9/2, Flying Angel at 11/2, Golan Fortune at 33/1, Westerner Point at 12/1, Ballyoisin at 9/2, Ballyoptic at 13/2 and Janidil at 4/1. What a successful and profitable November all members enjoyed and this game seemed easy heading into December.

The good run continued into December with profits of +29.17 points won. Members and myself were on cloud nine as the profits kept rolling in! Our December winners backed were Sharjah at 5/1, Daltons Highway at 7/1, Potters Corner at 11/1, The Moyglass Flyer at 13/2, Clan Des Obeaux at 6/1, Slate House at 10/3, Redford Road at 14/1, Cogry at 11/2, & Le Boizelo at 5/1.

January was just above breakeven while we gave a few quid back to the bookies in February (-11.87 points). February was a very wet and stormy period seeing several race meetings abandoned resulting in a low volume of advised bets.

March was going nicely with a decent Cheltenham Festival but then the Coronavirus struck. I decided the fairest thing to do was to pause the service on Monday 16th March. Yes, I could have persisted with covering Irish racing until 24th March but the quality of racing and lack of market liquidity would have just frustrated the majority of members. I was surprised by how some other  racing services switched from UK racing to Irish racing and then onto US racing in search of racing to advise tips. No one can be an expert covering that range of racing and it all smelled of desperation!

Full Members enjoyed a very tidy 35% return on investment (ROI) during the shortened Jumps season just finished. Those betting to £50 per Point stakes accumulating £3,294.51 (Tax Free) to add to their betting banks. The final total of +65.89 points profit generated ensured everyone enjoyed a great 2019-2020 jumps season and we cannot wait until the next one gets going proper in October 2020.

Who are the non-believers who keep saying each way betting doesn’t pay? Not us, that is for sure!

Overview of Results for the 2019/2020 National Hunt season.

The Win and Place strike rate was excellent for a value betting service. We hit a combined win and place percentage of 43%.

Nicky always concentrates on quality over quantity. By specializing on Class 2 races up to Grade 1 level he was able to deliver another very successful and profitable jumps season for his subscribers.

My personal seasonal highlight was landing the first and second placed runners in the ultra-competitive Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival where Dame De Compagnie won and Black Tears was runner up. Two mares who smashed the Coral Cup past trends while proving that form study is the way to go!

From a betting perspective only, Golan Fortune at 33/1, Redford Road at 14/1, Western Point at 12/1 helped to see Bet Alchemist Full Members easily come out on top against the bookies during the 2019/2020 National Hunt Season.
