Mud Loving Day at Goodwood

It’s like winter jumping ground this weekend with heavy in the going description!

There are ten runners due to start this decent handicap but most likely a few non runners will be declared this morning. Let’s hope that at least eight runners take their chance so that us each way punters enjoy three places. The two horses I like here are the well backed Alemaratalyoum who goes well at Goodwood and loves soft ground. He let us down at Chester so I am switching to the David O’Meara trained Cold Stare.

Harry Bentley rode this horse at Haydock on soft ground in July when runner up to Greenside. That was a cracking run and off a 2lbs higher mark than today so we know he is well handicapped. Cold Stare is drawn in stall 1 and as a hold up horse will require some luck in running but should he get the splits this could be his big day!
