Military March To Guineas Victory!

Welcome back! It has been a few months but what a cracking day with the 2000 guineas crown up for grabs.

Pinatubo was champion 2yo old last season maintaining an unblemished record in six starts. He should stay and deserves to be favourite but odds on is very short!. Coolmore run four with Arizona and Wichita looking the best of the Coolmore runners. Both are by former sprinter and current sire No Nay Never. A slowly run race would help them get home as it would Mums Tipple who has to prove he stays a mile too! It is the Godolphin second and third string horses that I like at the prices with their form closely matching that of the second favourite Kameko.

Al Suhail finished a length behind Kameko at Sandown when coming from last before his run flattened near the line in a race won by Positive. Al Suhail went to Newmarket for the Autumn stakes and enjoyed the run of the race in behind Military March get was outgunned on the run to the line as both Godolphin owned horses pulled 7l clear of Ropey Guest. The winner Military March was having only his second start that day following a maiden win over a furlong shorter at Newmarket.

Military March will have developed and progressed from two to year and remains open to major progression this season. Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor is well capable of having a horse ready off a break and a guineas victory would be massive with Charlie Appleby hogging the limelight the past few seasons. Hector Crouch rode Military March in his maiden victory so knows the horse well. At the prices and with some bookies offering four places we back a guaranteed stayer against the speedsters.
