Ladbrokes Premier Handicap Hurdle Preview…

A good card of racing at Ascot before we enjoy Christmas. It’s going to be busy from Boxing Day onwards with quality racing at Kempton, Leopardstown, Chepstow, Wetherby, Newbury, Limerick, etc

Hughie Morrison Aims for Christmas Bonus

Today, we target the Ladbrokes handicap hurdle with Dysart Enos a deserving favourite if a little short.

This race might not be enough of a stamina test for Be Aware while Dysart Enos can race freely. I think this competitive premier handicap hurdle can go the way of Secret Squirrel.

Secret Squirrel ran a lovely race over course and distance last month. It was his first run of the season, and he raced freely so David Bass settled him in behind the field. Secret Squirrel made up his ground before tiring and plugging on to hold third place.

The winner, Our Champ franked that form with a solid third at Newbury off a 5lb higher mark. Last season, Secret Squirrel dominated up front to beat Helnwein at Taunton over an extended two miles on soft ground.

Maybe they will allow him bowl along on the front end here as he well treated on a mark of 126 and 10-11 on his back.

Dysart Enos is the deserving favourite and needs to settle better than she did in the Greatwood Hurdle. Be Aware would prefer further in my opinion while Kabral Du Mathan is short for such an inexperienced hurdler.

Ascot 3:35

1 point each way Secret Squirrel 13/2 Skybet 5 places else 7/1 generally, 4 places.

Best of Luck,

Nicky
