Ironwill is four pounds better off against Ghost Mode who beat him by just over a length at the Goodwood Festival. He came from off the pace and suffered some bumping at the finish that day. We can forgive his run over a mile at the Ebor Festival. A poor high draw and some traffic left him with no chance.
The return to seven furlongs at Goodwood with rain forecast will suit nicely. As a two-year-old he won over five furlongs on soft ground at Beverley. This son of Dark Angel has a turn of foot and hopefully the experienced John Egan can get his head in front, off a low weight of eight stone and four pounds.
