Master Zoffany won impressively at the Chester Boodles Festival when overcoming some bumping at the start to come through and win going away. He settled well in behind the leaders but quickened up nicely when in the clear to beat a decent field over a half furlong shorter. Paul Hanagan rides again and this Zoffany gelding looks to be progressing into a decent horse. He is drawn in stall 10 with his riding style and the small field of 10 runners ok. The ground is heavy and hopefully he handles it well enough to run a big race gone up 6lbs for his latest victory.

Wobwobwob won well at the recent Dante meeting but that was over 7 furlongs and a mile on soft could prove too far today. The top weight Dark Lion looks rather exposed on a mark of 95. Roger Varian runs Raadobarg who arrives here in great form off the back of two wins. His latest mile win at Thirsk on soft ground bodes well and he looks our main danger.
