The Peter Marsh chase is always hard to win with the likes of Royal Pagaille and Bristol De Mai two Grade 1 performers winning recently.

Royal Pagaille runs in the colours of exuberant owner Rich Ricci. Most of his string is stabled with Willie Mullins but Royal Pagaille is trained by Venetia Williams.

Charlie Deutsch heads to Haydock rather than Ascot for just the one ride on Royale Pagaille. We take the hint and back the classiest horse in the race to win despite carrying a stone and more than his rivals. It is a decent race with Remastered & Empire Steel looking the main dangers. The big difference between graded horses and handicappers is that the top-class horses can maintain a strong tempo for the full duration of a race.

Royale Pagaille tanked through this race last season pulling himself to the front such was the ease he found the pace of that race. Charlie Deutsch can push the rest of the field out of their comfort zone by dominating this race on the final circuit. Royale Pagaille has enough experience over fences to get away with the odd low jump and with a clear round I think he will win the Peter Marsh chase again.
