Ballycamus Can Land Big Cheltenham Pot
A welcome change from the flat to the jumps this Saturday.
It has been a tough flat campaign in 2025 with a lack of Big Handicap winners. The aim is to win it all back over the course of the jumps season. That will include access to all tips for some of the major festivals until we get back into profit. Hopefully, that seems fair going forward into the winter and 2026.
Ballycamus Can Land Big Cheltenham Pot
This could be a massive day for the newly formed training team of Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies.
They have invested a lot of money in young horses. Those horses will need time to develop but it is the likes of Ballycamus that are the “here and now” horses for this season.
Ballycamus looked like winner at Chepstow a fortnight ago only to tire from the last fence home. The winner Ask Brewster is a chaser on the up with the first two sixteen lengths clear of the third home. The results from the first day of this showcase meeting went to horses that had already had a run.
Fitness is important to win any race these days and more so when tackling an extended three miles with £52,030 first prize. Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies didn’t enjoy any luck with their runners on Friday but overall, their yard is flying this month. Ballycamus jumps well and won twice over three miles last season. He has a low weight of 10-5 with Sam Twiston-Davies taking the ride.
