Back Sam for Repeat Haydock Win
The Peter Marsh Chase is our target this afternoon at Haydock.
The ground is testing and that looks just the job for our selection who won there impressively in December. A couple of non runners has reduced the field to the perfect each way number of eight runners.
Sam’s Adventure relishes heavy ground so will be well suited by today’s underfoot conditions. He won the Tommy Whittle chase over course and distance comfortably in December. After jumping the last fence in front he idled up the home straight running the final furlong with his ears pricked and plenty left in the tank. This nine year old remains lightly raced with this just his 9th run over fences. The handicapper raised him 6lbs for his latest win to a mark of 139 which is fair. The market leaders Royal Pagaille and Sam Brown (non runner) have to give weight away and that could prove hard to achieve on such testing heavy ground over 3m1.5f.
